It has been 23 long years since the West Indies last beat Australia in a Test series. The rock of twenty-one of those years has been one Shivnarine Chanderpaul and now rightly or wrongly his time is up. What he leaves behind is a young West Indies side that for the past few years has been wrapped in turmoil. It was only last October in which they pulled out of their one-day series in India after the fourth of a planned seven matches.
